Bob Braudis was born at St. Margaret's hospital in Dorchester, Mass. in 1944. He was raised in South Boston an Irish ghetto, attended St. Brigid's for 8 years then tended Boston College High School and graduated from Canisius High school a Jesuit preparatory school in Buffalo N.Y. He received a Bachelor of Art degree in history from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After a few years in the corporate "rut" working for Dun and Bradstreet, he dropped out and moved his family to Aspen. After 6 years as a professional ski bum he entered the profession of pubic safety as a road deputy in 1976. He filled all of the jobs in the sheriffs' office until 1984 when he was appointed a county commissioner. In 1986 he elected to run for sheriff and succeeded and is now in his 6th term.
Bob is a regular contributor to Aspen Peak Magazine including stories about the man hunt for Ted Bundy and the Free Lisl Campaign.
